MarDon Fresh News – January 25, 2022

The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1040.85 feet – rising 1.55 feet this

week. The Potholes Reservoir remains frozen over. There have been some folks ice fishing

in Lind Coulee and some of the year-around Seep Lakes. The Seep Lakes have been

producing some decent trout fishing. Use PowerBait or jigging spoons just off the bottom.

Most ice is running 3-5” thick. If you venture out on the ice make sure you are equipped with

the proper safety equipment!

With the Reservoir and sand dunes still frozen over – concentrate on fields and open water

along the wasteways for ducks and geese.

Nic & Gunnar Anderson, Mason Meseberg, Josh Williams, and Levi Meseberg enjoy a limit of geese on the Royal Slope!

Happy New Year!

The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1039.75 feet – rising 0.25 feet this week.

The Reservoir has frozen over this week! Have not had any reports on the thickness of the ice yet. Have had several reports of anglers’ ice fishing on Long Lake.

With the Reservoir and sand dunes frozen over – there is not much of an opportunity to hunt these areas. Look for open water along the wasteways. Field hunting can produce both geese and ducks.
