MarDon Fresh News – March 20, 2019

MarDon Fresh News – March 20, 2019
The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1042.85 feet – about 5 inches lower than last week. The water temperature on the Reservoir is in the mid to upper 40s.
The walleye fishing continues to pick up with several limits coming in.   Vertically jig or cast Blade Baits, Jigging Raps, or Whistle Pigs over humps in 25-50 feet. Trolling has been picking up fish as well. Troll a Slow Roll hook with either a crawler or a Berkley Killer Crawler with or without a Smile Blade. Troll slow - .5- .8 mph.
The largemouth bass fishing is picking up again after our recent cold snap! Find the warmer water back in the dunes and pitch and flip jigs with a trailer, throw wacky rigged Senkos and slow roll swimbaits and spinnerbaits. Fish in the 4-7-pound range have been reported this week.
No reports from the dock as it has been closed for repair. The dock should be open sometime this coming week – call the tackle store for status.
Trout anglers are concentrating on the Medicare beach area either trolling wedding ring rigs with a worm or Needlefish. From shore - fish Power Bait or a marshmallow/egg combination.
