MarDon Resort Fresh News – March 11, 2022
The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1041.70 feet – dropping .10 feet over the past week.
The Bureau of Reclamations is continuing to prime and prepare the system for this season’s irrigation.
The Potholes Reservoir is icing out at a rapid rate now. The majority of the Reservoir is ice free. You now able to launch a boat off the rocks at Perch Point and the Glen Williams launch should be opening up within a few days.
The launches at MarDon Resort, Potholes State Park, and Blythe Point are still iced in.
Several folks that have made it out have been catching some trout and several walleyes. Water
temperature is in the upper 30s – so fish slow. Troll worms and slow death rigs or jig blade baits over marked fish in 25 – 40 feet of water.

UPDATE:
MarDon Resort Fresh News – March 11, 2022
The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1041.55 feet – dropping .15 feet over
the past week. The Bureau of Reclamations is continuing to prime and prepare the system
for this season’s irrigation. The Reservoir should start filling around March 21. The Potholes
Reservoir and the Seep Lakes are ice free. All launches are free of ice.
There have been anglers on the water this week. Trolling has been producing son nice trout
in front of Medicare Beach. For walleye, jig a ó oz. blade bait or Rapala Jigging Rap in 25-
40 feet of water. Several reports of largemouth bass being caught back in the sand dunes
have come in. The numbers aren’t high with the colder water temps, but fish to 6 pounds
are being caught. Pitch ó oz. black & blue jigs to wood. It is still a bit early for the panfish.
If you plan to fish the Seep Lakes below the Reservoir – double check the regulations. The
year around lakes are obviously open, but because we no longer have the March opener,
most other Seep Lakes do not open until the fourth Saturday in April. It is also that time to
renew your fishing license – it expires March 31.
