MarDon Fresh News – April 6, 2018

MarDon Fresh News – April 6, 2018

The current water level on the Potholes reservoir is 1043.23 feet- not much change from last week. The water temperature has moved up to the mid-40’s on the main Reservoir and the lower 50’s back in the sand dunes. The gates have been opened and the Potholes Canal is flowing – filling Soda Lake. This water flow will draw fish to the mouth of the canal where it enters the lake.

The walleye fishing has picked up considerably this past week with numerous limits being caught. The fish are being caught between 20 and 45 feet of water with the 35-40-foot range being the most consistent. Fish are being caught both jigging blade baits and trolling slow death rigs with Smile Blades. Fish Lind Coulee, Medicare Beach and the mouth of Crab Creek for the walleye.

Quality Largemouth bass are being caught back in the dunes on swimbaits, swim jigs, punch rigs, jig with a craw trailer, and spinnerbaits. Reports of several fish in the 4-6 lb. range have come in. A few Smallmouth bass are being caught in Lind Coulee on crank baits.

Trout are being caught in the Seep Lakes on Glitter Mallows, Power Bait, and or worms. Not much happening off the MarDon Dock yet – but it will be picking up soon for trout and crappie as the water temp rises.

We are running our Spring Break Special March 23rd thru April 15th. Stay 3 nights -pay for 2!
