MarDon Fresh News – January 11, 2022

The current water level on the Potholes Reservoir is 1039.740.20 feet – rising 0.45 feet this week. The Potholes Reservoir is currently frozen over. There is open water here and there accessible by shore in spots. There have been some folks ice fishing in Lind Coulee – but the thickness of the ice is not consistent.

One hole might show 5” the next 2.5” so if you venture out on the ice make sure you are equipped with the proper safety equipment! With the Reservoir and sand dunes frozen over – concentrate on fields and open water along the wasteways.

Shawn McKee of Moses Lake found some open water accessible from shore on the Potholes Reservoir and caught this beautiful winter trout!
