MarDon Fresh News – March 9, 2018

The current water level on the Potholes reservoir is 1044.28 - slightly up from last week. The water temperature is 38 degrees – but will start rising with the warmer air temps and longer days. Look’s like we might have turned the corner!

We have had several reports of both walleye and smallmouth being caught this past week on the Potholes Reservoir as well as trout back in the Seep Lakes. The walleye and smallmouth are being caught on ½ oz. Blade Baits. The trout in the Seep Lakes are being caught on Glitter Mallows, Power Bait, and or worms. Not much happening off the MarDon Dock yet – but it will be picking up soon for trout – then the crappie will show up.

The Bureau of Reclamation has just released a public website that allows access to the current water levels of the Potholes Reservoir, Moses Lake, Scooteney, and other waters – as well as other useful information. The web address is http://www.usbr.gov/pn/hydromet/cbp. The Potholes Reservoir is listed as site 09 in the drop-down list.
Many of the Seep Lakes are open year around and many more open April 1st. These lakes can provide some excellent early season trout fishing and the year around lake have already been doing well. If you don’t have a current fishing license – stop by the MarDon store and pick one up!

We are still on our Winter Rate schedule. Come visit us for some good fishing at a great price!  We are also running our Spring Break Special March 23rd thru April 15th. Stay 3 nights -pay for 2!

Call the MarDon Store for the latest fishing info and to make reservations at 509-346-2651.

Barb and Steve Brady of Othello WA - Potholes Reservoir regulars - had a great day on the Potholes Reservoir this week catching several nice Walleye and several big Smallmouth and a Burbot!
